I was really looking forward to the Memorial Day weekend. No church activities, no work, just time to spend together as a family doing fun stuff outdoors. Except that it rained pretty much all weekend. It was a bummer. We did get a little geocaching in on Sunday afternoon, but my big plans to hike up to Timp Cave had to be postponed indefinitely.
Memorial Day was the day Adrienne finally decided that she was ready to use the potty full time. She is wearing big girl panties and is doing great! I couldn't be happier that we are cutting down the diaper buying. She does know how to work the system, however. Because cleaning up poop is one of my least favorite things to do, she gets a treat every time she goes. She has figured out that if she does a little poop every 30 minutes or so, the quantity of treats goes up. I won't complain though--I'd much rather have it in the potty than in her pants.
The treat she likes the best are chocolates we got from our neighbors for Christmas. They have white chocolate on top with sprinkles of red candy cane mixed in. She calls it the chocolate with owies.
Besides the poop-fest we have had this weekend, we also got in a visit with Burke's parents and my parents. Unfortunately, we got a big fat hole in our tire just as we arrived in Highland. The memorable weekend officially ended yesterday with me taking four kids to Costco for three new tires.
