Eating Icing, or Building a Gingerbread House With 4 Children

School was out.
What to do?
Make "gingerbread" houses out of graham crackers and royal icing.
They learned what Neccos are (and they are hard to find).
They learned how to make "snow" out of white icing.
They learned that you really do get a stomach ache if you eat too much candy.
I learned that Nathan does not ascribe to the "less is more" school of thought, Adrienne REALLY likes chocolate, Kade is very creative, and Annika's fine motor delay appears to have cleared up.
I also learned that it is even more fun if I let them do it their way.
I am proud to say I was "hands-off" for most of the fun.
I think we all enjoyed it that way.
Most importantly we had fun--together.
