H1N1 Fever

At least we don't need to worry about the vaccine.

I got it Sunday on the way home from San Diego.

I spiked a fever on the drive from my parents' house to mine. By the time we got home, I was at 102 and felt awful.

When I got up the next morning, it was to find that the furnace wasn't working. I got my achy bones down the stairs and figured out how to get it running again. (Yay me!)

I spent the next 48 hours in bed, rising only to comply with the pleas of poor Adrienne for food.

Then Annika got it.

Fever.

Whining.

Dragged myself over to pick her up from school.

She has been fever-free for a couple of days now, so we are attempting school again today, although she told me this morning her ear hurts really bad.

Adrienne spiked a fever Tuesday night.

Took her to the doctor Wednesday after my own fever broke. He confirmed it.

Started her on Tamiflu. Hopefully it will help her; she is so pathetic.

This is how H1N1 makes you feel:

Burke has been amazingly patient and helpful through all the whining.

He even ran Primary errands for me.
Took the kids to the library alone.
Went to the store for more meds.
Made two slurpee runs.
Made dinner(s).
What a guy.

Love You!!

I am nervous because all my kids got it, but Aaron and I never really did--we just got colds. I am hoping that counts and we can be flu free this winter because it will be extra important for me at least...

Hannah and Joshua have been fighting it over here...YUCK YUCK YUCK! Just hoping that Mom doesn't get it. Becca, Hal and I have not gotten it but Brookelyn got it! Those two are on the mend and FINALLY fever-free. I took Joshua to school on Friday, and got a call at 11:30 a.m. to come and get him. Hannah's class had 7 kids out on Friday and 5 kids went home sick from Joshua's class on Friday alone.

This is a crazy flu.

Hang in there! We will be thinking about you! Glad to hear that all is well with Burke's job.

I'm so sorry for you guys! Isn't it weird how some people don't get it even though they live with it? I hope it passes us by but doubt it will. Feel better soon!

Congratulations on not running to the ER! I love people like you that take your tylenol and ibuprofen and chicken soup (or slurpees) until it is done. None of us have gotten it yet even though I see it nearly every day...
