Shampoo, Shampoo

Sea World was great! The last time I was there was when I was around 10. It has been a while. It was so fun to see the animals, the displays, the kids. The rides were fun too. We had a chance to see most of the shows, and on Saturday, there was trick or treating around the park. The kids got some goodies, so they were pretty happy.

Nathan never did get the gumption to touch a sea star. Or a ray.

Because of his "motion issues" Burke never set foot on any of the kiddie rides. The best ride was Journey to Atlantis. Lots of fun. Lots of wet. Unfortunately, Adrienne was not big enough to ride it yet. We did a stroller swap and Annika got to go twice. (We're in back). We went to see the Shamu show, of course. During the show, the trainers urge the audience to do a sign and then say "Shamu, Shamu" to make the whale splash. The kids loved in and joined in the chant. But Adrienne was saying "Shampoo, shampoo".
In the end, it didn't matter, we got splashed anyway.

By the end of the first day, the kids were beat. We decided to go out to eat at a restaurant that Burke loves, and is no longer in our home state. We gathered the kids up, herded them out to the van and took off. They enjoyed the meal until about halfway, then the girls were done.
And I mean done.
It had been a busy but productive day.
The next day we decided to spring for the meal plan. It wasn't part of the vacation plan, but Burke was feeling magnanimous. We could eat whatever we wanted from all the food places in the park. I got this cookie, not because it looked good, but because it was shaped like Shamu:
We took some more time to relax and enjoy things the second day.
The boys are in the back, it is where you are least likely to get soaked.

One of my favorite things to see were the eels. They were very creepy. They just sat still in the water and looked at you without moving.
Adrienne's reaction was hilarious. She started doing eel impressions.

We ended the day by going to the night time show "Shamu Rocks". It was really fun, and a great way to end our trip.
