Separate Vacations

I like surprises. Well, good ones. Keeps life interesting.
I like to go to new places and try new things.
Last Wednesday, I decided we would go on a trip to San Diego. I booked the hotels, bought the Sea World tickets, and packed in one day. It was a whirlwind of activity.
We got about two hours from home and Adrienne needed to go to the bathroom.
Sigh.
We stopped at a gas station, went in, used the potty (after some precautions) and got back on the road.
As we were pulling up to our first hotel about 6 hours later (2AM), Burke asked me where my purse was...
Gasp.
Panic.
Weeping, wailing, gnashing of teeth.
We called all over the place trying to figure out the name and number of the gas station we stopped at.
We finally got the number, but they were closed. I called every hour until they answered at 4 AM.
Yes, they had my purse. Someone had turned it in!
My dad went and picked it up later that morning and everything was there.
At least I didn't leave one of the kids, right?
